ODB reader not reading
« on: June 08, 2017, 10:11:05 pm »
I bought a cheap OBD reader for my car a Maxiscan MS309, it powers up but then fails to read and faults saying it can't communicate. Tried it on my 2017 Caddy and worked with no issues. When it melted a coil pack the other the AA also struggled at first to getting a reading. Anyone have any idea? I tried with ignition off, on and engine running al with the same result.

Try it with a decent, tried and tested device that you know works correctly. VCDS or similar for example. Ignition on needed, engine doesn't matter
