Looking for a MK5 GTI
« on: June 06, 2017, 02:14:49 pm »
Hi all,

I'm considering selling my Scirocco - to go back and buy a MK5 GTi.  I was besotted with the car when it first came out, and with the value of my scirocco falling I feel now is the right time to make a move.

My price is around £4500 - so generally a car with some miles.  Things I'm looking for are a good history, cruise control and possible head unit/heated seats.  I'm not too fussed.  I'll be commuting quite a bit in it, so history and a well maintained car is mainly what I'm looking for.

I saw a nice red 3 door in the for sale section.  If anyone has any updates let me know.  Not too fussed about getting it quickly, I currently have a bicycle to commute on!

Thanks,

Ganan

I'm after a specific spec of car, and I value enthusiast owned cars which have hopefully been maintained better.

Generally the cars have been better maintained, the owners are obviously knowledgeable (to an extent) as they've gone as far as being a member on here and contributing.

As a bonus, a lot of members will have a build thread to mooch through. I'd choose an owners club car as appose to an autotrader special any day of the week.

Good luck in your search OP.

After my experience I would join a forum and ask before buying off Autotrader or the likes as your more likely to find a car with a proper background if bought of an enthusiast and forums and clubs are a safer bet. In my opinion.

Yeah underneath it shares the majority of its parts with the MK5

It's pretty much a MK5 in a frock!

Nah I'm keeping this, I joined up on here as it's more active than the Scirocco owners club! Older dash, no appropriate pics ATM as she's filthy haha

It's an 09 so the older dash

Ah ok, I was wondering what was prompting the change.

Shoot me a mail when you get a second.  :happy2:
