MK6 steering wheel into MK5 - airbags & loom
« on: August 31, 2017, 09:04:15 pm »
Hi all

Recently updated my clocks to newer black and white highlines and thought while I’m at it might aswell change the wheel too.

I’ve ordered a new CH module and my existing slip ring will work.ive got a new cruise stalk on the way but the MK6 wheel seems to be like gold dust these days. Managed to find one but there’s no airbag (why do these seem to all be without airbag?)

Anyway what’s the going rate for one these days and will any MK6 airbag fit?

Also it looks like I’ll probanly need some kind of loom - I’m looking to get a MFSW wheel. Will this loom suffice:

Thanks Alex - see a lot of MK5 with airbags but MK6 without.

Anyway will any airbag work from any MK6 wheel?

Also do you know where I can get a MK6 loom from?

Is this the right one?

ive a flat bottom mk6 wheel on mine with a ch controller & it works very well with my white rocco clocks. i changed my cruise stalk to rev G & fitted the correct mfsw airbag loom with slip ring for the mk6 wheel.

a 30 steering wheel... not trying to hate, but that is sketchy as hell lol, especially after removing your airbag on a street car too.
