Think the front discs and pads on my car are on the way out, not as sharp as they were and dont look in too great a condition, so whilst looking for info on new discs and pads, I came across some info about upgrading to GTi ones being an easy and cheap upgrade.
Ive got an 09 plate Jetta Sport with factory 17" alloys, 2.0 CR TDi 140bhp engine, code CBDB, currently 280mm front disc diameter, am i right in thinking that on this car, for GTI brakes i can re-use my old calipers because 2.0 TDI calipers ARE GTI calipers anyway, and apparently the pads are the same between TDI and GTi, so all i need specifically from a GTI is the larger 312mm discs and GTI carriers?
Is that it in a nutshell? cos it seems a bit too easy and straightforward and in my experience no mods or upgrades on a VAG car are straightforward
