Hi guys. Ive recently fitted H&R 30 mm lowering springs and the power flex anti lift kit to my Golf GTI mk5 and having a few issues. They were both fitted the same time at a VW specialist. So after these were fitted the car just doesn't feel right at all. The cars pulling mainly to the left but sometimes to the right, feels floaty at high speed and if on the motorway I'm constantly having to make steering adjustments even though I'm going straight! Ive taken the car to a reputable tracking and wheel alignment garage after fitting twice because i wasn't happy but they've stated it's spot on. I've called the VW specialist who fitted the mods and asked if the shocks were ok as one or two people have said it could be the shocks but said they seemed fine with no leaks. Im quite baffled really as the car feels worse and have spent a lot on the mods and fitting. Ive scrolled the forum and not found anyone with these issues and haven't got a great deal of money to get the car checked over maybe with a performance garage but will if needed. Has anyone had these issues or know what it could be? Any info would be highly appreciated. Thanks guys

Sounds like they may have greased the outside of the bush instead of fitting them dry.
If greased they slide their way backwards out of the console.
Not seen how powerflex Mk5 bushes install, but I would expect only a small amount of the bush outside the console.
Can you take a picture of each side?

Thanks for your reply LC5F. The instructions says to grease the bore of the bush so hopefully they haven’t greesed the outside too like you’ve suggested they might of done! I’m taking it back in the week so hopefully when they get it on the ramp I can take some photos. Powerflex responded today saying sounds like something’s loose. Thanks again pal

Alignment and/or dampers.
A damper can’t assumed to be fine just because there is no visible oil leakage. What often happens is the nitrogen gas escapes over time and as you’ve increased the spring rate, tired dampers struggle to cope.
Could also be tyres. Uneven air pressures will create a similar effect. Old worn out tyres close to the wear limit isn’t good either.

Mine had the same problem for ages. Coilovers, anti-lift etc etc.
It’s been finally solved with a new steering rack. If new dampers don’t solve it on yours, you might be looking at the same fix. It’s a very common problem on these cars.
