Mk6 Climate control wiring for mk5
« on: July 23, 2017, 10:29:17 am »
Morning all, I have recently fitted a new Mk6 Climate Control to my 2007 Ed30,only it doesn't store the settings, I know there are two wires which i have to change is it pin 16 to 20? I have a pin 16 in the black plug but there is no Number 20 in the black plug,so could somebody please take pictures of the mod being done? I have searched for days trying to find out more information but I just cant get my head round this

There was an excellent thread about this here:

But alas photobucket have screwed it up. I used it when I did mine. Reply #56 had a diagram showing what wires went where originally and where to put them based on different year cars. You could pm him/her and they may be able to send you the diagram.

You'll have to switch pin20 and pin16. - then the panel will remember the last used sittings.

The wires are difference sizes and have different size connectors. So cut the wires 10cm from the climate panel end and re-solder then the end with the connector from pin 20 to the "cable loom" end from the car to wire 16. Then visa verca on with connector end from wire 16 re-solder to the cable car loom end from pin 20.
