New Clutch..........and DMF

Had the car in to get new clutch due to slipping and it was discovered that the DMF had excessive play in in by VW. So just to add to those who have had a dmf fail....thats one more for the record. My car is an 08 ed30 with 18K miles.
VW agreed to do the flywheel under warranty but i had to pay for the clutch and release bearing which i supplied (sourced from seremotors for £150).

I know there are a few others out there with slipping clutches, so just a heads up that it may mean a new DMF as well.

Im wondering if my revo settings were set a bit too aggresive, i was running B8,T5,F9.
Might scale them back a touch, maybe B7,T6,F9 

My car is 08 registered and it was fitted with LUK clutch which i have just done a direct replacement, must of just fell short of the sachs type as i think it changed in 2008.

If you have a SACHS clutch and you need your DMF doing under warranty they will replace both with LUK items as VW no longer fit SACHS.

Mine is awaiting DMF spares to be ordered.  The stealers  are sorting the DMF under warranty.

Wont be to do with the settings you have, but if you are scaling the car back, you would not want to advance the timing like you said there - you would prob want to keep it at 5.

Good luck finding a sachs DMF as Audi & Sachs do not have one for the Audi S3 8P so ill bet this is the same for the ED30.

Mine is LUK Gareth. As I've said whatever you have now will be replaced with LUK!

My mate had to replace both on his S3 after going to Stage 2+. He opted for the Spec clutch and SFW and it has done the trick a treat. Sounds a little rattly when really cold but a lot better than I thought it would be. Launches like a bitch now too. Just can't be over rapid with the gear changes. But I reckon a dogbone mount will sort that..
