Stage 1

GtiKris:
Hi All,

Just wanted to share my experience...

I've purchased Bluefin Stage 1 remap for my 07 GTI :-)

Today was the day when my parcell arrived (7am to be precise).

It is on offer now for £332 (from £399) from their website or Demon Tweeks.

It took me about 45 mins from start to finish! Very easy to do, just follow instructions.

I took it for a drive, easy to start with, waited for engine to warm up. I can feel slight difference even driving steady.

Put my foot down and... Wow... it is quick now! More responsive. Every gear now pulls so easy now.

I have Oversized Ram Air and custom non res cat back... and maaaan it sound mean now! As soon as it hit boost or when on wot it sound unreal!

I cant even think what you guys with proper custom maps think of your GTIs :-)

Generally I am very impressed with Bluefin and what it offers for so little.

Happy now :-)

The sponsors/tuners rarely come onto the forum, but glad you're happy!

There's nothing not 'proper' about Bluefin.  A map is a map at the end of the day!

GtiKris:
Was wondering if anybody on forum had experience both Bluefin and other remaps. Was there a difference? If yes, was it noticable?
Also, did any of you Stage 1 Bluefin guys had a rolling road print out? What's the bhp and torque figures? I know they quote 41bhp increase, but...?

Thanks

From what I gather, the consensus on Bluefin/Superchips TFSI maps is that at Stage 1 they're ok, but their 2/2+ maps seem to have a bit of a bad cred.

There was a thread a long, long time ago where a Stage 2/2+ Bluefin car was data logged, and it didn't sound great. Think along the lines of big boost spikes etc.

If you're happy with how the car now drives, and all the necessaries are in check - boost, timing, AFR - then happy days :)

That may have been an isolated case, and tends to be the one everyone links back to on here and the FB group when people are feeling a bit witch hunty.

The majority of Superchips customers seem happy with the results.  They've been remapping for decades and tend to give realistic (I.e. less than the crowd pleasing tuners) bhp figures.

Tbh, I find their figures more believable than the 380ish people quote for a pegged out Ed30.  I like that they show what happens below 2500rpm as well.
