How Low? GT GTI ED30

Quick one all. Got a spring issue on my MK5 04 GT TDi so need to chance the springs (possible shocks)

- Regardless of the model will ALL the MK5 range of shocks and springs fit?

Drop, from what I've been told, is this true.....

- 2.0 etc has the softest and tallest ride hide
- Then the  GT TDI which is 15mm lower springs and stiffer shocks than the above?
- Then the GTI and ED30 have stiffer shocks and lower springs, around 20mm lower than the GT TDI

is this correct?

?? I need to replace my GT TDI springs (worn) been offered a GTI and a set of ED30 shocks and spring OEM

Will these options lower my car from the std. GT TDI units?

Iv fitted gti springs and shocks to my gt tdi and they are miles better ...
Firmer on the road so you feel the bumps more but in the corneres it not like you steering a boat anymore
And have lowered the car by 20mm too but the derv engine is heavier than petrol I believe so this will be bit lower on the front than normal

The suspension found on Comfortline versions, for example, of diesel and petrol mk5 Golfs is the standard ride height. Sport versions like the GT have 15 mm lowered suspension with stiffer springs and dampers (Bluemotions also have a 15 mm lowered ride but with normal suspension spring and dampening rates). GTI and Ed. 30 have a 20 mm lowered ride, with specific parts. The Ed. 30 have a bit stiffer suspension than normal GTI. The R32 has a 25 mm lowered ride with also specific parts.

The axle weights on 2.0 TDI are different than in 2.0 TFSI. Only if you had a 1.9 TDI the weights would be similar.

All in all if I fitted gti or ed30 shocks and springs to my gt tdi, with the petrol ones being softer spring how much more lower would she go ?

I fitted gti springs and shocks to a 1.9tdi. Was maybe slightly lower than a standard gti at the front after fitment . Maybe due to the heavier engine. But looked better and handled better than the standard diesel springs and shocks.
