First clean of 2017 it pains me to say.

Cars not running that great at the moment and I'm hoping it has something to do with either the pcv or dv so I'm looking into that now, I have read that mapping your turbo can lead to it having issues splitting

Had several faults show up on VCDS in relation to my lumpy idle...
A turbo bypas control valve circuit which was open circuit?
And a intermitten misfire on cylinder 4.

It prettt much prompted me into buying a GFB DV+ as it's the cheapest fix for a potential issue.

So i got to replacing my faulty DV for the GFB DV+.

Once I had removed the old

The old one didn't particularly look in bad condition

Once I got the new one assembled and fitted back together

And fitted :)

I have to say I was well impressed with the GFB DV , came with an idiots proof guide to fitting which was great as I'm an idiot.

Never the less, so far so good it's been on for about 120 miles and it's cleared all my faults I had on the VCDS scans and my car is running smooth again at low revs :)

Next up to change the fuel filter as I picked up a Bosch one on the cheap.

Poor picture I know but I debaged the rear the other evening and I'm much happier with how it looks!

Puncture? :surprised:

Mine are severely beaten by 3 track days of 80 minutes/each. Need to replace them with new rubber soon. Can't fault them for road tyres.

Recently been working away in Norwich which isn't too far from where @Eddie-NL  is based, so I took the opportunity to take my car up to him along with some High-line clocks I've had kicking around for about a year!

Within half an hour he had me all coded and fitted which I was well impressed with!

I didn't have all the correct bits to get the MFSW working with it at all but sure as anything Eddie had sent me the links for all the parts I needed before I even got back to my hotel!

All been ordered and thanks for you help mate!

Blimey what happened to that tyre!? Looks like it was rubbing on something? Have you driven a gti? Just wondering what your 200hp feels like compared to a gti's..

Regarding the tyre Hit a pothole at 4.30am... didn't realise damage was done untill a good mile or so down the road  :ashamed:

Unfortunately I've never driven a standard GTI so I can't compare the two!

A little update on fitting my MFSW, after visiting eddie I had ordered all the parts to make my Highline work correctly..

I ordered a new steering wheel which I didn't want but I needed the buttons from it, I ordered a new Highline control module and I've ordered a wiring loom from China.

I couldn't find a MFSW non DSG and flat bottom so I decided to butcher my current one to work...

When I bought it.

The wheel I bought which had the buttons fitted, also used this as a template for my Frankenstein.

A picture showing half the cutting process completed, doesn't look pretty but the button and holder fits in really well so far.

Action replay

The carnage

Fitted, these are not the buttons i am going to be using but was using these as a guide to whether or not it would all fit together!

How i'm running around untill my wiring harness arrives...

Must have been a bad pothole, unlucky! I know some people manage to get damage paid for by councils if caused by damaged roads, might be worth a try.

Yeah it was huge! Unfortunately my council won't refund any damage unless the pothole has previously been reported, in this case it literally appeared over night so I was left with the bill :/

In other news my wiring loom came in from china today so I fitted my butchered steering wheel and to my elation I think it looks pretty good, and it works so there's a bonus!

So this week has been an interesting one for sure, driving down a dual carriage way by my work and I notice I have got a flat tyre (only run 800 miles on a contact sport 5) so I go about changing my tyres on the side of a busy road which is no problem
 At all.

So the car is jacked up, using the emergency jack that comes with the spare tyre and I'm just about to take the rear tyre off but as I pull my tyre off the hub the jack snapped... like actually snapped in half. So there I am with my wheel now on the floor brake disc firmly rested on the inside of my alloy and the car now rested on top of my arm.

It was painful to say the least, I was on my own and my phone was in the front of the car. Luckily I was at the back of the car so I could wave down someone to help me - this alone took 10 minutes before a car stopped to help me, in that time 3 police cars, 2 ambulances and countless cars/vans drove past :/  by that point my waving was pretty frantic and luckily in the end someone did stop and used his jack to raise the car to free my arm.

Anyway, I'm looking for another jack, preferably one that I can fit in the spare tyre section, any ideas for a scissor jack or something I could put some faith?
