Aux Retro Fit

Hi All,
I have the standard MK5 Golf Stereo in my car and looking at the best-recommended solution to have either an AUX cable or Bluetooth to allow me to play songs direct from an Android phone.
Has anyone ever done this and can provide a good recommendation?

I'm in the same boat but will more than likely get a rcd510. The screen on my current one is buggered and can barely read the display.

If you have a rcd300 you can buy a connects2 aux adaptor that mimics your cd changer. I conveniently have one for sale on eBay at the minute. It's at£20 at the minute

I've got a genuine 9w2 Bluetooth kit with the full wiring loom. This will allow you to stream music and use steering wheel controls to answer and hang up calls if you have them.
$50 plus postage. I'm in Auckland.

I fitted a Connects2 from eBay to my RCD300 last weekend. Taking the dashboard apart is a bit of a faff and you'll need a torx screwdriver, but worth it - all works nicely, good clear sound and much cheaper than replacing the radio (not to mention avoiding any of the can bus gateway upgrade / battery drain issues).

Hi rado, it won't work if you have a rcd300, I tried it on my rcd300, it's not compatible with the generation of radio, you will need a connects2 kit for aux On a  rcd300.

Did you mount it into the Glove Box or the center console?

I used a longer 3.5mm to twin lead, dropped the Connects2 box down the back of the radio (lots of room down there) and trailed the lead out of the top of the dashboard above the vents, where it runs down the side and to my phone in the glove box. Looks a bit rubbish, but I was concerned I'd hit an airbag wire finding my way into the Glove Box through the side, and couldn't work out how to emerge down by the ashtray without drilling or snapping plastic.
