Ram air intake v ramair oversize intake
« on: August 27, 2017, 07:54:19 am »
Hi.

Looking at getting an intake and found 2 versions of the ramair. What are the benefits of one over the other? I can't find any info, maybe you have some input?

Cheers

Dave

Ram Air oversized intake fits Ko3 & ko4 turbos cause has an extra port for ko4 turbo and comes with a blank off cap for Ko3 turbo. Makes a nice turbo whistle  sound. Ram Air intake is for ko3 only makes a nice turbo whistle & sometimes hear a turbo chatter. But all depends what stage remap your running.

Thanks for the reply @Trav Turbo

I'm stage one. Reason I asked was because after having my decat my cars louder now so I can't really hear the turbo whistle. Miss that noise!  :sad1:

I'm stage 2. Mines is Decat and 3" full system, I've got the Ram Air oversized intake if I decide I'm going ko4 in the future. I get the turbo whistle from the intake along with the exhaust sound on boost.

I have the 70mm ramair intake and seems to be fine with my stage 2+ map 353ft lb torque
