6 speed Tfsi clutch on a 5 speed tdi??
« on: September 04, 2017, 07:23:47 pm »
I think I probably know the answer to this but does anyone know if a 2.0 Tfsi (BWA) clutch and dual mass will fit a 1.9tdi (bxe). Obviously the clutches and flywheels are different but I believe the cranks have the same bolt pattern I'm just not sure if the flywheel would physically fit her box....... so to speak.

I'm a bit strapped for cash this month and the Mrs's 5 speed 1.9 clutch is slipping, I have a helix clutch to fit my 2.0tfsi, so was thinking my existing clutch and flywheel could maybe do her car? My existing clutch only has about 5k on it so will go to waste anyway.

Thanks for any advice offered.

No chance mate.  O2J box isn't it, with the external slave cylinder and release fork style clutch release?  O2Q has the concentric slave inside the box.  Completely different setup I'm afraid.  Her box needs surgery to take the larger part.

Yeah Pudding, I believe it is the 02j with the external slave. I didn't think it would work tbh due to the size of her..... I mean the box

I drove the car tonight and it's no where near as bad as she made out but it's very high and will need sorting asap.

My girlfriend is the same with her MK4 1.6.  Complains the clutch is worn out (56K miles old) but when I drive it, it's fine

That thing has a MK1 Golf style gearbox in it  :surprised:

You can fit the bigger gearbox if you retrofit the rest of the whole transmission as well. It's an expensive retrofit...

She wouldn't spend the money!  She hates buying tyres, let alone anything more interesting    Cars are just transport to her!
