Got my renewal through last week - last year it was £520 and this year it is £665 due to a fault claim recently for a reversing incident
£1 years old.
15k miles.
Remap declared, no other mods.
Parked on drive.
One named driver.
Maximum no claims.
Guaranteed NCB.
I'll be shopping around though and trying Greenlight because I was with them for a couple of years with the R32 and they were quite competitive.
Did my shopping around today and the cheapest has come out as Admiral bizarrely.
I'm a bit annoyed though as my current insurance with HIC isn't up for renewal until the 22nd and they took payment today (17th) and I've received an e-mail saying my policy has been renewed. If I accept the Admiral policy (which I probably will) HIC had better not charge me an admin fee for refunding my money otherwise there will be trouble It did say on the renewal notice to make sure funds were available in my account 5 days before but I still think it's a bit naughty renewing it 5 days early.
Well I've found out why Admiral came out cheaper.....I went back to my quote to accept it, was just double checking everything nand realised that where I'd put my reg in it had the car listed as my old Mk 3 (which I've not owned since 2004). After changing it to the Ed. 30 they were actually more expensive.
I've finally gone with Adrian Flux - £545.
Unlimited mileage
£300 excess
Protected NCB
Key insurance in case I lose them/have them stolen.
No increase for cosmetic mods.
Like-for-like replacement on mods.
They beat my renewal with HIC by £120
