High level brake light - avoid TYC part
« on: September 23, 2017, 10:28:25 am »
While searching for a replacement high level brake light - which seems to cost £50 for the OEM part these days - you might be tempted by this cheaper alternative, which claims to be suitable for the GTI:

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/tyc/7515305

It's not. Not even the right shape, and doesn't come with wiring or connectors.

Time to send mine back and shell out for an OEM one...

Yes, I suspect it is indeed one for a standard Golf.

It is frustrating the amount of breakers/parts companies that list things for Gti’s but are not.

When I was looking for a MK6 wheel I had so many companies quoting me prices then when I asked for pictures they sent me a MK5 wheel or a standard MK6 wheel even though I used a MK6 GTi registration. Had I not asked further I would have shelled out nearly £300 for a basic MK5 non MFSW steering wheel!
