Where can I buy a road legal square number plate?

So I am looking to buy a square number plate and not sure where the best place is to buy one- any advice would be most welcome. Am talking about the small square ones. Thanks.

eBay would only provide show plates I think
Remember you have to show your log book to get new plates and would you give that info to someone on eBay?

Recently bought plates on eBay without having to provide any docs
