Bear in mind the S3 and ED30 are two different cars, there will be more transmission losses with the 4 wheel drive system so it might not feel as fast as a ED 30
Exactly mate. For a start a Stage 1 S3 is going to be slower than a Stage 1 Ed30 (when moving). But more importantly, comparing a set up, adapted map on a one car, to a trail map on a different car (albeit similar) isn't really a ideal comparison. The trail software that Revo offer IMO is marketed more to persuade people with standard (software) cars to take the plunge. Not to comapre against other fully uploaded software.
If you are a CC nut Ian then by all means stick to your guns. But to say Revo isn't a patch is a comment that is going to get shot to pieces on any VAG forum IMO. Especially on here with members who have switched from CC to Revo (ie John and Tom for a start).
Oh and don't forget that Revo settings can be tailored to provide the delivery you want to suit your driving style and other than that the figures speak for them selves both on track on rollers..
CC have said the S3 will be slightly less lively than the ed 30 due to the 4wd but hardly noticable , the guy who s doing it says he thinks CC software in stage 1 is much better on the tfsi engine and he deals with the other side too
i would have thought the revo trial would be the best they can do surly that would make sence , so you would want to buy it ???
also i dont want to tinker with any settings cause i dont have the knowledge to do so
i would say too that the guys who shoot my comments to pieces have revo , i was talking from my experience that out of the box revo is nt a patch on the cc to DRIVE not figuers or times , real time driving
