Mk5 Golf GTi fuel filter
« on: October 04, 2017, 06:38:11 pm »
I've just changed my fuel filter (easy job in fairness) and upon changing
It, I noticed the new filter which was a genuine one from VW had a different part
number ending on 'K' instead of 'C'
The bit that grabbed my attention was new filter had 6.6 bar stamped on it
Instead of the old one that had 6.4 Bar stamped on it??

Anybody know why VW have altered the pressure resistance & changed the filter :happy2:

It's probably used on another model that runs higher fuel pressure.

Don't worry, 6.6bar is the updated spec for the Mk5 GTI fuel filter...

It's a revised part, has an internal pressure regulator

It's a revised part, has an internal pressure regulator

So doesn't make any real difference in any way, just revised it to aid a bit more pressure from the lpfp

It's a higher safety margin, if the valve fatigues with age the cracking pressure can decrease.... That coupled with a low pressure spike could see you hitting this and causing issues....

Real world it should make no difference

Guys,
What's the correct part number for this as looking through the FVWSH and also huge amount of other bills collated by th eone previous owner, i cant find anything relating to the fuel filter being changed, hence gonna grab one and get it changed :-)
Pinged the guy at the below link and he said that this filter is correct, and just want confirming as its very cheap compared to others???? :happy2:
