running issues
« on: October 05, 2017, 05:18:16 pm »
Hi all, had my mk5 coming up to a year now, it has a full exhaust, decat, forge twintercooler, forge intake, forge bov and some sort of map (unknown) on 94k. always ran on vpower and generally looked after and driven rather kindly mostly. Its ran well the whole time but since Friday issues have arisen.

It sounds like a boost leak which has gotten louder over the week, runs really bad when cold and slighter better when warm, engine has cut out several times when coasting to a stop. Ive checked what I can see and cant see any pipes off etc and will dig deeper at the weekend. Ive ordered a rev g as always planned to remove the bov and will do that on sat whilst digging.

Also the car has been serviced twice by me in the last 4k and never have reset the service as it last said 5600 to go this morning, tonight however upon start up it has stated service now and then went off. Part of the same issue or possibly something else?

thanks in advance

quick edit, Ive looked for codes using a torque app pro but only shows the usualy decat fault, and the tests show evap fail, not sure if its always said that though, car runs much worse with oil cap off so that should rule out the pcv
