Maybe try the Powerflex adjustable camber front bushes instead of bjs as they give upto 1/2degree more without these brake clearance issues.

SP BJ will actually make that situation worse as they are slightly wider/bigger

Even the S3/Passat ball joints rub when fitting new discs. I use discs with 350 mm for MB ML450 and I also have alloy arms from the S3/Passat.

The only thing that the adjustment allows is to alter the camber just a bit by extending the hubs further from the centre of the car. The hub is fixed to the ball joint which is much bigger, so it's also closer to the splash shield and brake disc.
