So I was wondering if all of the GTI foglights have 9006/HB4 ?

Hey.
Since I really want to use some Philips Ultinon LED in my fog lights I was wondering if all the GTI fog lights is 9006 socket?

My old TDI foglight had H11 sockets.

It's not possible to get the philips bulbs in the HB4/9006 socket :confused:

Man, I can only say "I doubt it"...I'm in the US and told someone on this forum 9006/HB4 because what I need here. Then someone else there said it's a different one. So, next time this was asked, I said to use what the one fellow said previously...and then another said they are 9006/HB4. I have no clue anymore. If needing to know yours, pull one out and look. To check; pop off the fog grille, remove the fog mounting screws, then remove the fog bulb from back side of the fog lamp housing. Then you can go and get the proper new bulbs.

Mine are HB4 but need H11 ones before it's possible to fit the philips ultinon led bulbs..

Foglights are definitely 9006 as I've replaced my with hid but soon to go led.hope this clears things up for you guys  :happy2:

Well, it gives me less hope to fit the Philips Ultinon LED fog light bulbs if that what you mean:D

They are only made to fit the H8/H11 socket  :fighting: :fighting: Hehe

it's what I fitted in my fog lamps so I'm really sorry mate  :smiley:
Why Philips ? Are there no other brands like the cheaper ones I bought  :grin:

Mine are 9006 /HB4, but not sure if they vary much on other GTI's

AFAIK older mk5 Golfs have HB4 and newer have H11 lamps.

there are 2 types of foglights.  some early gti's have projector look  others have the reflector style which do have 2 different types of bulbs

My fogs are with HD lenses like you have on the xenon lights..

Guess I'll call a lifeline monday and see what he has to say about it and what it says in EKTA:)
