Hello think I may have a small issue but am not sure,
I’ve just had a new thermostat fitted and now my car does get to 90 and stayed there, but does seem to take a while what could it be

Depends what you mean by a while..... The drop in temperature, coupled with having the heaters on inside the car can have a massive impact on warm up time......

For instance - Mine can get up to 90 on the gauge in about 2 miles..... but if I drive gentle and have the heaters on full blast it'll take a lot longer

If there definitely is a problem then it will be caused by the thermostat you've just fitted as that is what controls engine temperature

Got a similar problem where at idle the temp starts to go down a little and that points to an open inline bypass stat.

Replacing mine but noticed the new genuine replacement lets a little air pass when I blow through it..........is that ok?

TPS is Volkswagen Trade Parts Specialist............basically the supplier of genuince parts to dealers, but some people get accounts like myself (ex HQ and dealer employee) and gain trade price on parts.

If you do not have access to this then do throught the dealer.......just ask them if your car has the part number mentioned.....I bet money on it having one being an AXX.

He's wrong.

Mine is AXX manual and it has an inline. I replaced it myself but I don't have the part number.

The DSG has two inlines depending on the year. Same part number.

Changed my inline stat today and the old one was wide open.  The car warms up a lot quicker now and does not drop in temperature at idle like before 😊
