Replacement Remote/Keyfob
« on: November 05, 2017, 04:40:46 pm »
My keyfob has stopped opening the car, but the lock button still works ok. So where's the best place to source a replacement?

Thanks

My sisters keyfob also did this. (Mk5 golf match). The indy garage opened up the keyfob and found bits of dust and  debris were causing the unlock button not to function properly. A gentle clean sorted this out. All working again!
Might be worth a try before going through the expense of a new fob?

Hope this helps

Rich thanks for the reply. I took it apart and gave them all a clean then put it back together. It worked a couple of times then gave up the ghost again.

no probs.

Might be worth changing the battery also? just double check there isnt any lint or fluff that you may have missed?

Change the battery dude mine did this intermittently last month. got progressively worse then completely stopped. Took apart. New battery. Good as new. Believe it's a 2032 battery ☺
