will you have the rub issue if you don't lower the car? i like the ride height atm (speeds humps every 5 metres here!!)
I feel you. Live in Bradford. Potholes and bumps everywhere. You'll have major clearance if it's not lowered. Depending on your rim size too
I had 19"s on my previous golf gti, standard springs and it rubbed going over bumps, especially if fully loaded. Swapped the alloys for 18"s and felt much better. No rubbing.

Oh how I miss this beauty. Eventually swapped for 18"s Ch Reps. 18x8j and 8.5j. Still on stock springs but drove beautiful. Wanted spacers on this golf but sadly got written off.

My experience on lowering is that it actually made the alloy tuck in more, or maybe that's just me. Spacers are deffos needed if lowering.
