I know how the running lights work, my question was more about the sidelights running the same amber colour as the indicators, so when indicating only the inner (indicator) part of the amber part of the light would flash leaving the outer (sidelight) still a solid amber colour.
That is correct amber will blink a brighter and then reduce in brightness when it stops blinking. Outer side lights will remain solid amber or white or which ever colour you fit in.

i have been told that i need to get a code for it so the garage can load it to the car.

Is this true?

If so has anyone got it?

You just need someone to code them in on vcds vagcom by ticking a check box and also turning bi xenons without shutters so not to blow your wiper motor.  :happy2:
