Finally got around to taking some pics after getting all the trim colour coded.

Genuine ED30 rear valance, got a good deal on ebay, painted shadow blue and gloss black on the lower accent.
It turned out cheaper to get new black GTI side skirts and have them sanded and painted than get ED30 ones.
Front spoiler is also sanded and painted, again with the lower part gloss black.

That looks really really good. Have you got a price for each of those jobs? I would be very interested in doing the same with my Shadow Blue GTI. Just wondering what it would cost. Still looking for ED30 rear bumper (do you have a before/after picture?) wondering how different they look (not just in terms of it being painted). Thanks

Cheers flakie, i cant remember the exact pricing, from the scraps of paper i have lying around i think it was roughly:-
Rear valence  - 250 (two colours)
Side skirts - 150 a side
Front spoiler - 80 (two colours)
All fitted and cash in hand, no VAT, but i think i ended up paying about 700. The car was filthy dusty so he gave me 40 quid off to get it valeted (pocketed it and washed it myself)
Not including the 160 for the rear valence (praise ebay) and 40 odd quid for the side skirts, each. Oh and he also got out some minor to medium scuffs and scrapes in the surrounding areas.
As for before photos check out this thread i made when i bought the rear valance back in July, you can see the shape better in silver.

Small update:- Genuine S3 intercooler.

Installed it myself, biggest job I've done myself so far. Wasn't too complicated thanks to the APR instructions and a illyun's write up.
I totally forgot to take any pictures as i did it, you'll just have to take my word for it that its in there!

All went to plan except for when i took it for a spin round the block. As soon as I put my foot down I heard a massive pop/bang and woosh and then I stalled, restarted and managed to get home. A quick look in the dark with a torch the drivers side intercooler pipe has popped off on the stock metal coupling end!? Obviously didn't pay attention to the clip as i took it off..... Next day I clambered under, fitted the hose correctly and i've had no problems or even a warning light  :happy2:

Also got new boot struts as the old ones were having trouble lifting the hatch, nice 5 min job.

Next job, APR Pendulum mount and a Superpro Dogbone insert.

Then I'll grab some new coilpacks and a set of sparkplugs

After that its onto bigger things, either Milltek 3" downpipe or upgrade the HPFP. I know that you need a tune with the downpipe to clear the error code, I plan on trekking all the way to R-tech from down here in Kent.

Fitted the APR Pendulum mount and a Superpro Dogbone insert.

Definitely an improvement over stock.
Quick gear changes are tighter and smoother, wheel spin/hop is much less on take off.
Cabin noise has increased but not too much, although it was louder to begin with and i had some rattling but now it's settled a bit and is acceptable.

Is that a genuine ed30 front splitter? Where did you get the front and rear splitter and side skirts? Been looking for ages, they are like gold dust

Well its been over a year since i've posted but shes still going strong. MOT failure meant a new mid silencer but a sneaky pass with faulty number plate lights.

The rust on my wings hasn't got any better!

The APR Pendulum mount had to go, not long after i installed it there was a rattling that i couldn't get rid of without removing it. I now have a very expensive paper weight. I still have it if someone wants it for cheap, you'd need new bolts though.

I've purchased a brand new HPFP and VIS internals which i'm not bothering to fit at the moment and probably wont till i get a downpipe and remap.

I have however made a slight change to the interior.

The Chinese Android radio i got a few years back does look the part as it looks very OEM but it was starting to age and trying to use it as a sat nav was almost impossible. so i invested in a Sony headunit with Android-Auto. Much better experience but doesn't look as fab with its 2 fascias.

The other more recent change was inspired by Deanos new White GTI thread where he replaced the gear knob and gaiter with an Audi A3 8v one, not a straight swap but a simple enough mod with a bit of un-stapling, glue and patience.

I have a week off work at the end of June and i plan to purchase a Milltek 3" downpipe with HJS 200 cell cat. Hopefully the weather is nice enough to fit it!

I will fit the HPFP with the uprated internals the same week and then ill be booking a slot at R-tech Performance! (are they even open? covid??)

Jim85, a very late reply but i got the ED30 rear valance on ebay for £160, a guy not far away was upgrading his ED30 to the R32 rear exhasut and valance, I was very lucky. The sidskirts were new normal GTI ones and i asked the paintshop to sand and paint them and the same with the front splitter but it was the one already on the car.

Downpipe has arrived!

I'm still waiting on the reducer to fit it but that should be here soon

The drivers side rear caliper is started to seize up so I ordered a new one and it should be here tomorrow.

The Winter has not been kind to my wings, especially the passenger side, I am thinking of going the cheap route for now.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-mk5-2004-2008-New-Passenger-Fender-Wing-Painted-LD5Q-Shadow-Blue/142907570848?hash=item2145f47aa0:g:8GEAAOSwfxFbhSHb

I have done a bit of research, some saying they are an OK fit, some spaying otherwise. Compared to the quotes i got last year i think its worth a try and if the colour or fitment is off i can just return it.

My wings are similar. I bought two genuine front wings over the last year whenever I saw a bargain on ebay. I think I'm just going to wrap them. My current rusty wings had been resprayed previously but the colour match was slightly out and it bothered me. I'm not prepared to pay bodyshop costs to have the same outcome as the previous owner did.

Well I'll be more than happy to part with it, also I was googling how to get new bolts for it to save you the hassle and found out the ones supplied with the mount are "non-one-time use"!

ARP Bolts
The factory bolts are one-time-use, and must be replaced when installing a new mount. The APR system includes non-one-time-use ARP bolts for their strength, quality and longevity over the factory bolts.

Found out on this page http://www.goapr.co.uk/products/pendulum_mount.html

I'm 80% sure the bolts are with it in my shed, will check tomorrow and I'll let you know a price.
