Xenon Bulbs
« on: February 07, 2010, 07:07:03 pm »
I want to change my xenon bulbs. I believe they are D2S bulbs? I know all about the higher the k the less lumens so I dont want a ridiculously high K. (Defeting the point in xenons imo :stupid:)
I am thinking a 5k bulb. Does anyone have a 5k on here to comment on? Maybe a 6K defiantly no higher. Also are the cheap ones of ebay going to cause problems? Should I stick to a better brand? I have seen Osram 5k ones but at £120 they are not the cheapest.
What are peoples thoughts?
Cheers
Ollie :happy2:

Sorry, not sure about your questions...

Interesting mod... how many lumens and "K" are the stock xenon bulbs?

My thoughts are 4300k only for me to be honest. Anything else looks abut too non oem for me! That's only my opinion though. I think morty is running 4300k bulbs from Ebay. I think anymore and they look too blue

I can see where you are coming from Jay. The thing is mine look yellow now which I do not like. I want something like the mercs that you see which have a bright white light with a slight blueish tinge to them. I obviously dont want to ruin the light output.
Darrens are 6k. :happy2:

The blueish tinge you see is the lense splitting the light up. The actual light output is White. But on the perifery (?sp) iTs blue as the lense refracts the light

Are they still 4300k or a different temp?
