Help Needed - with Seat swap
« on: January 02, 2018, 08:54:49 pm »
I drive a 2009 mkv Jetta 2.5, it was a base model and came with heated cloth, I found a cheap pair of leather seats and swapped them in, seemed plug and play. Passenger seat had an extra harness that i couldn't find a place to connect and my heated seats don't work. I've searched upon the forums and heard of the loom under Neath the passenger seat and the harness adapters kufatec offers. I believe my seats came from a 2006 jetta , because the passenger seat can fold flat and I was told that was a feature on the 06s. Please anyone with any experience ,  can you tell me if there is an easy fix, I live in Canada and don't wanna be doing to much wiring work in -20 degree weather.

On early models (pre 07), heated seats had a control module under each seat.
Post 07 models only had a module under the left hand seat.
So, if your new seats are the 'older' type there will be some difference in the wiring to figure out.

It may be easier to swap the looms from your old seats to the new ones?

Search for heated seats, you should find my guide which has some wiring diagrams which may help.

Edit: here ya go:
