Used to be able to on older systems (mk4 etc) with VAGCOMYou need to build a resistor for each airbag to keep the light off.
Dealer is 1 hour minimum charge for that now, so £100+.Try disconnecting and reconnecting the yellow plugs under the seats if you can't get a scan locally. The passenger warning light itself can be a pain if you've messing around installing new radios etc recently.
When I looked into it last year the rules on SRS had changed recently. Looking now, it appears they have changed again, or issued new guidance;https://mattersoftesting.blog.gov.uk/common-mistakes-made-by-mot-testers/"When testing SRS MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) lamps we are only looking to see if the lamp indicates if there is a fault with the system. If no lamp is present or it doesn’t illuminate then it can’t indicate a system fault, so it can’t be failed. Some vehicles may also incorporate warning messages on dash board displays; these are in addition to any MIL lamps and should not be used as a reason for rejection"
