My Silver Mk5 GTI
« on: January 15, 2018, 09:23:13 pm »
Good Evening Boys & Girls

So back in May 2017 I picked up my Mk5 which was purchased off a good friend (Vag). Before pick up it was fully serviced, Cam follower and DV replaced, two new front wings, refurbished diamond cut Monza's, Brembo disks and pads all round AND an off the shelf map.

Day of pick up

A few weeks later I fitted my private plate and snapped a nice pic next to a pals R32.

So for a few months not much happened to the GTI bar fitting a Scorpion cat back which I got off a friend for a very good price. The lack of progress was due to recouping from a Stag Do and taking part in the Scum Run in our custom built Harlequin Sharan  :signLOL:

We decided to book in a Track Day in the cars so I invested in some H&R springs, Ferodo DS2500 Pads, Millers racing brake fluid and Nankang NS-2Rs all round.

The Track Day was unreal and the GTI performed faultlessly!! We are all hooked now and a week later we had booked back at Brands Hatch

After Brands I treated her to a deep clean and wax

These are the most recent pics I have as she stands now (December 2017)

Plans for 2018; I have purchased a 3" Decat that should be here this week. Then ill be collecting parts up to take a trip to R-Tech and go Stage 2+

Long term im thinking Ko4 purely to the fact a friend is building a 350bhp Mk2 caged golf so ill need to pull my finger out to keep up on track  :signLOL:

And of course the plan to book in as many track days as possible!!

Thanks for reading and I will update this as I go.

So a little update. I am taking the 6 hour round trip to R-tech tomorrow morning  :jumping:

Booked in for the 1st 0930 slot. CANT WAIT. then Brands for the whole day Monday so hopefully she makes some healthy figures.

Prior to the visit I've had a panel filter installed and a 3" decat downpipe which sounds immense!!

Few pics:

Ill post up the results from R-tech tomorrow

Silver looks fresh even when dirty I think that’s what  appeals to most people.
