Sorry to bring this back up, but after looking at things to check on my car before considering a stage one, I saw the DV should be checked....well what do you know I get a whistling with the turbo which I'd always assumed was the turbo itself. Will get a GFB DV+ in the next couple of months and see about replacing it :)

Was gonna do it myself but seeing as the car is booked in to do the thermostat on Weds I'm getting them to do it :) I never put my foot down at all most of the time as the car simply doesn't get to operating temperature most of the time, I do have a whistle from the turbo so with both these things fixed I'm hoping I'll notice the difference :)

Yeah I had the dreaded stat fail last year and took two attempts to replace it as I was sold the wrong part so did the front panel new depo headlight timing belt and water pump and then did the stat the next weekend.
As long as they use all the parts in the GFB box you'll be fine

Fingers crossed, they managed to snap a plastic part when putting everything back together, and then got sent the wrong part so I should finally have it back today.

Well they decided that it wasn't the right one. Whether they just had a quick look as it'd already got a solenoid attached which I now realise was from a MK6 R. I'll take it off this week and then decide to either sell and get a rev G or put it on :)
