Insurance - Again
« on: February 08, 2010, 01:02:14 pm »
Think we should have a separate section for this annual question.

Just wondering who are the good and bad out there at the moment.

Renewal due in a month @ £580 but with huge fire claim from Aug last year.

Greenlight £622
Admiral £690
Tesco Compare £595

Cheers

Lee

Directline?
ALWAYS the cheapest for me  :happy2:

Don't bother with confused.com or gocompare. Their best quotes are always double what I pay with Direct line. You can't touch diret line for service either (I've had a few claims in the last 14 years, mostly other people's faults)

It's a real con, wife works for Royal Bank of Scotland (boo hiss - and no she didn't get a bonus this year as she administrates Tesco Insurance!!!)

Well they own Nat West, Direct Line, Churchill, Admiral (I think), plus a few others.  Staff & immediate family are supposed to get a discount by quoting the unique employee number.  But all the staff are employed in call centers and only reiterate what the computer tells them.  Which is normally more expensive than the comparison sites.  Moan over.

What I should have asked for are good brokers.  Someone who you can talk to and earns the commission.

Cheers

Im waiting on my insurance renewal to come through. Im currently with Chris Knott, very mod friendly and were by far the cheapest last year. Try some of the specialist companies like Adrian Flux, HIC, Greenlight, especially if you intend to mod or have mods! :happy2:

Nope - tempted by some of the mods you guys are doing, but don't want to complicate after the fire claim.

BTW Direct Line £876 with staff discount!!!! or £832 without  :signLOL: (52days cover free)

if you are a std car then def  I would still try confused.com/comparison sites as they seem a little better than the last time i did it (just remember to put in an invalid telephone number or youll get called!)
they even seem to quote for modded now too.
RACInsurance came out ok

staying standard is so much easier..

Im with Chris Knott due for renewal end of this month.
also try performance direct

for modded any deal is  probably all with 'Highway' anyway.

Try some of the specialist companies like Adrian Flux

My Elephant renewal was £625 for a year - Adrian Flux wanted over £800.  :stupid:
