I was checking my cam follower yesterday and found this piece of plastic jammed down the front of the engine bay, rubbing against the fans. I pulled it out and initially thought it was a remnant of the stock intake cowl (I removed all of that ages ago).
The part number is 1k2 815 159a. After looking it up, it seems to go under the scuttle panel, under the wipers.

It looks like it's for channeling water, and I've read about people ending up with soaked footwells due to blockages under there, so I want to get to the bottom of this before I end up with mouldy carpets.
Anyone have any idea?
It's possible that the guy who fitted my springs (the last work done on the car) took this off for access and left it sitting in the engine bay.
