Loose pipe in engine bay?
« on: February 02, 2018, 02:21:19 pm »
Hi all had a loose pipe/tube in my engine bay and lost a tiny bit of oil in the past week, I don’t want to connect the two up just incase they’re not supposed to go together so I just want to make sure. Here a pic of the two.

Found out that it’s for the turbo boost gauge valve.

You should discover where they connected it...it shouldn't be full of oil. They should've installed a "T" for it up near the hpfp(@ "R" of the intake manifold). Located in step one on this pdf: http://bd8ba3c866c8cbc330ab-7b26c6f3e01bf511d4da3315c66902d6.r6.cf1.rackcdn.com/VW_MKV_GTI_FSI_ECS_Tuning_Vent_Pod_Vacuum_Boost_Gauge_Installation.pdf

If it was connected to the crankcase ventilation...you will get oil. A proper boost tap connected to the CC ventilation may have helped prevent this.

Looks like it's diesel with that airbox, so slightly different procedures.
