The AA told me my fuel pump was goosed so replaced it with a fleabay one. Starated first time - happy days. 2 weeks later wont start - is there any way ive got the blue and black fuel lines the wrong way round and is there anything on the pump that tells you to fit eg the blue one. - novice - be gentle

The side of the filter with 2 inlets, the black pipe goes to 'IN' (stamped on the filter) and the blue pipe goes on the other one.   There is only pipe for the single outlet side of the filter, which you can't go wrong with.

Which pump did you replace?  The in-tank one, or the engine one?

Check the in-tank pump fuse under the panel on the end of the dash, 15 amp, F27, but check the handbook to confirm.

Could also be the relay, which is under the dash behind the cubby hole draw thing.  Bottom row, row of 3 white ones taped to the fuse board.  Think it's the left one.

If none of that, then it's probably a crap pump and I would recommend a new one from VW.

I've had the in tank pump fail in November, replaced with used eBay item.
That recently gave up 2 weeks ago.

In tank pump from TPS is around £170 so I went for another eBay one.

This time, I got the revised part from a 2011 car so hopefully will last longer, £30.

Check fuses, relays etc.
Then check for power to the in tank pump loom connector (you'll need someone to turn ignition, while you check for voltage when the fuel pump primes).

Or, use vcds if you have it.
Basic settings allows you to activate the fuel pump for 30 seconds.
