I had my cam belt tensioner replaced with a genuine VW part about 18 months ago. A few months ago which completely stopped the clanky noise that is associated with a slack chain.

I start hearing the noise again very faintly a few months ago and it is getting a tiny bit more noticeable every month.

When the work was done I was told the adjuster was fine and didn't need replacing - the work was done by Dialynx so a very reputable company and I was very pleased with the work they did which included a de-carbon of the valves.

Has anyone else had the noise reappear after having dealt with it before?

Out of interest, what does measuring block 93 say in VCDS?

Mine started off at 0kw when I did the chain and tensioner last year, or whenever it was, but has gradually shifted to -4kw.  Hopefully that is just 'settling' and not chain wear.  I'll keep an eye on it.   But no, mine hasn't started making the diesel clattering noise yet.
