Wing warranty.

Could someone give me the basics of trying to claim on the wings? I’m hoping I’ve got just enough time to try my luck. Is it a case of the following.

-Enter local VW dealer
-Ask for wings to be inspected under 12 year warranty
-wait for response
-is there some kind of literature I can produce if they try to fob me off.
