Gti Pioneer Head unit
« on: June 21, 2018, 08:57:04 pm »
Hi all I've been just bought a new Pioneer Double Din head unit to replace my old Pioneer. It all works well but whenever I turn the key it resets itself and loses whatever I had on previously. I've swapped the red & yellow wires around and still resets itself. I've heard I need to run a separate power supply for it, I'm presuming  a fuse tap is what I need.

Has anyone had this problem before and sorted it?

Or is there a guide available to run a separate power supply to do it?

Thanks.

Do you have any kind of harness adapter installed? I think the standard on/off signal comes from the Canbus, which may be confusing it.

What facia adapter have you used? as I'm probably going to replace mine at some point.

No canbus just plug and play with mine, only had to change facia to fit it. I'll look into it but haven't heard of people using canbus to fit aftermarket stereos, I didn't use one on my previous Pioneer stereo in my car which I had for few years.
