Wheel help
« on: April 02, 2018, 02:24:47 pm »
Hello I’m totally clueless when it comes to wheels, but I curbed my monzas and I’m not keen on them anyway,so looking into bbs ch wheels.
I understand my
monzas are 18x7.5 et 51
But the ones I’m looking at are 18x8 et 40,
The bit I don’t get is all the online guides say they will poke 17mm which I can maybe get away with on the rear as I wanted to space my monzas, but might be tight up front,
the other bit I’m really confused at is the standerd eddy wheels are 18x8 et 51 so won’t that poke 11mm more than the ones I’m looking at.
Will I be ok with 18x8 et40 I just want a Oem look

The 17mm per side is derived from the lower ET number (eg 51 minus 40) plus half the extra rim width (eg 6mm). Afaik the ED30 Pescara wheel is the same 7.5” width as standard, so track width would remain unchanged from Monzas.

If you like the BBS CH, have a look at BBS VZ (if you haven't already). They are similar design and sit slightly further out than Pescaras, so fill the arches with no rubbing.
I'm sure there was a set for sale recently in excellent condition.
I've got them on mine, and with H & R springs they look just right!

Eddy is 18 x 7.5 ET51 standard. I’m running 12mm spacers back, 10mm front and lowered on coilovers runs perfect and looks the biz

They're correct the ED30 wheels are 18x7.5-51. I have 18x8-45 with 225/40-18 rubber on them. Wheel arches top out at 24" @ center and I had to bend the front arch screw up and the rear gap is pinky finger tight but no rubbing ever. The ones you're thinking of at 40et would be another 5mm outward from where mine are...would be flush, but you won't want it sitting as low as mine because not sure mine could take another 5mm.  :happy2:  I do have H&R front and rear ARB's installed and it helps with minimizing roll although ride comfort is compromised at lawful speeds. Once it breaks the law...it is in its zone.

18x8-45 are perfect...these are TSW Nurburgring @ 18.4 lbs/ea...where the oem 18x7.5 are 28 or 29 lbs ea.
