New OEM locking wheel bolts - where from?
« on: March 30, 2018, 04:11:20 pm »
Hi guys,

Need a new set of locking wheel bolts as both the key and bolts are a little rounded off (locking bolts are now off the car no not an issue).
After a new set of OEM locking bolts rather than after market ones.

Does anyone have a recent price on a set of OEM locking bolts? (the dealers and TPS are shut today).

Just doing a search on ebay and i think part number 1K0698139A and 1K0698137A  seem to pop up. Can any confirm if these are correct?

Thanks in advance  :happy2:

Rich

I got new ones from the dealer recently, think they were about 40 quid.   They don't do the factory ones anymore, but the new ones are great and come with OEM plastic covers  :happy2:

Any chance you could post the part number of the ones you bought? I've been quoted around £60 from two dealers as well as TPS...
Thanks.

Can't find the original invoice, must have chucked it, but bought them in 2015, so a price hike wouldn't surprise me.  Similar to the McGards but better quality.

I do have a set of the original ones still though, but a bit beaten up, which you're welcome to have FOC if you want them.

Thanks for the kind offer but I think I will stump up for a new set.
Thanks for the photo also! I will get some prices!

Just to close this thread and add some info for the benefit of members.

The part numbers and prices for genuine VW locking wheel bolt sets:

5Q0698137 - £72.05

1K0698137A - £71.78

The set starting with "5Q0" is the newest / latest release. Some dealers may have the older "1K0" sets on their shelves.

Both sets do appear on ebay reguarly (brand new) - i got a set of the 5Q0 for £30 delivered.

Hope this helps

Rich

P.S - i forgot to add. One dealer who quoted me for the bolts kindly offered to fit them also.... for £54. Yes, that's £54 for them to fit FOUR locking wheel bolts - on top of the £71 to buy them in the first place....

Good stuff.  See, it pays to check with dealers rather than relying on out of date internet information  :happy2:

£54 for 5 mins work, ffs
