Hi guys,
I thought i'd introduce myself as i'm fairly new to the Forum, well I actually joined in 2016 (when I owned my first MK5 GTi) but never got round to using it, now i'm back in another GTi I thought it would be a great time to come say hello!
Little bit about my car history...
2012 - Mini Cooper R56
2013 - Renault Clio Sport 182 Cup in Racing Blue
2014 - Mk5 Golf Gti Manual (Stage 1)
2015 - BMW M135i Automatic (JB4'd running 400bhp)
2016 - Leased a 66 plate Polo GTi whilst I was buying a house
2017 - Mini Cooper JCW R56 with one of the best specs i've ever seen.
2018 - Back in a Steel Grey Mk5 GTi DSG
Yes I change my cars quite a lot, however... in 2016 me and my partner bought a house, meaning I had to sell my absolute pride and joy at the time, my BMW M135i, what a car! Not quite been able to find something to match up to that without spending big bucks.. But I feel like the Mk5 is definitely the closest. I'll get some pictures up in due course of my older cars and of course.. of my new one!
So onto the new Mk5, it's a 2006 (56) plate, 3dr in Steel Grey, DSG and in general a pretty good spec. I got it through a dealer auction at trade price. I paid £4400 for it and it has one of the most extensive histories of any car i've ever seen!
95k miles, full VW Service history, serviced every 6k miles, 2 owners from new (one of them being VW I believe), regular DSG services, 2 cambelt changes, you name it it's been done! There were a few cosmetic issues with the car, mainly the corroded diamond cut alloys which I got sorted straight away! My plans for it are as follows...
- All 4 wheels refurbished in Gloss Black (in progress, picking the car up tonight)
- Full service including DSG oil, DV, PCV & a new cam follower
- Full correction detail carried out by myself at some point.
- 20mm Springs
- Exhaust
- Stage 1 Map along with the DSG being mapped at the same time.
- Got loads of little bits to fit to it, private plates, new bulbs, wind deflectors, new badges, new wipers etc..
Really excited to see where this little project goes, i'll send some photo's once i've got the car back! I've barely had chance to drive it properly yet so that's the first plan..
Thanks guys!
