Cat-back exhaust. Scorpion vs Trackslag
« on: November 07, 2021, 12:22:51 pm »
Afternoon,

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with either the Scorpion or Trackslag cat back exhausts (non res). They are both 3 inch systems but the silencers are in different positions.

See the two to compare. Does this make a difference to the performance or sound?

Cheers.

I'm looking at exhausts also right now due to a leak. Have come across both options. Hoping some black Friday deals will be along soon!

I think the trackslag option is quite loud judging from what say themselves as they recommend using their own downpipe which has an additional silencer on it to ensure its not ridiculously loud. Currently I'm debating scorpion non res or resonated or the bcs cat back which most people agree is the best system out there but it does require cutting your existing down pipe down to make it fit I heard if you do not have their own down pipe as well.

The power difference is not going to be noticeable on a catback and you would have to get a tune to get the benefit anyway. If however you are just after sound and maybe a bit more performance and your stock cat back is fine then I would just put the money towards a well made down pipe and get a stage 2 tune. The stock down pipe is pretty restrictive so a well made down pipe with a stage 2 tune will give a good power increase.

Thanks!

Im probably not going to go for a turbo back system anytime soon so a cat back will suit me, just depends which one. Think I am edging towards the trackslag option. There is a youtube video of someone fitting the trackslag system which utilises another support and they said it all fitted together easily.

Yeah I think they're well made things. If you do get it then report back how you find it  :happy2: and if you find any good deals going then let me know! Haha

If got a miltek cat back and wish it was a bit louder , it’s not much louder than the standard exhaust,  I’ve been looking at the cobra cat back and bcs.

Really not sure how loud the trackslag cat back would be. I want something noticeably louder than stock but not something crazy, ideally keeping the down pipe etc.

AKS tuning sell both the scorpion and the trackslag so may give them a rink for their thoughts.
