Retrimmed gearknob

Has anyone had their ed30 gearknob retrimmed ?
Seen there is someone offering a service to retrim R32 gearknobs which are near identical minus the golfball dimples so shows they do somehow come apart to be able to do it.

It would probably end up being just the leather at the sides, if someone were to refurb the dimples I'd imagine it would be a case of rubbing it down and plasti dipping it or something similar.
