Purchasing Modules/Controllers
« on: February 10, 2010, 03:39:18 pm »
Following on from the Cornering lights thread (in the VCDS section), I decided this is a feature I'd like. I hit the barrier that my 2006 GTI doesn't have the wiring or controllers/modules for this, so how do I go about purchasing these?

I literally don't know where to start; I don't have any part numbers of reference numbers which means the dealers certainly won't understand a word, I may as well ask in Belgian. I don't think asking "Enable cornering lights please" would cut it, unless any one can tell me otherwise?

All I need is an idea on cost and what module number/part numbers are required to enable this, as it's not something I've seen discussed often  ?

Original thread is here, which is a decent tread by Stu  :happy2:

Thanks.

You need the right central electronics module pete,  I think its 3C0 937 049AJ which is one of the versions of highline cu.

The first thread gives a number for the one I know works which is -

Currently I have only tested this on the Central Electronics Controller 3C0 937 049 AJ (30 Byte) so you will need to identify the controller you have fitted to you car.

So that or a later revision with 30 bytes or more should be ok.

I've not got the Highline, got the midline/std one. Is this a problem Daz? :popcornsoda:

Ok, presumably VCDS tells me this somewhere - I'll have a scout around.

How much would Controller 3C0 937 049 AJ (30 Byte) be from VW, is the price known? If not, I'll call up and get the shock

Thanks both

If your looking on the bay I can give you all the part numbers so you know which ones they are,  I can give you the new number if your getting it from VW but they want £250 for them.

Ill have a look for the numbers,  It doesn't matter if you have the highline or lowline the highline cu will give you the extra options to change in VCDS.

Cheers

Does that price exclude fitting?

Thanks mate, these are sound pointers. Is it something I could fit myself or would I need extensive knowledge of the GTI electronics?
