Boot opener / logo / tailgate handle

Anyone ever replaced one of these on a 2005 GTI? Had no luck finding one online. Tried plastic cover but didn’t fit

You have one of the ealier models with soft-close - These are hard to come by these days.

I replaced my whole boot logo/handle unit to a newer one that snaps once you take you hands of the handle logo. These are also able to have the mk6 logo fitted

Ok cool. What do you mean when you say newer one / where did you find it? Can’t find anything on eBay or VW suppliers for the mk5GTI

Mk6 is the one to have with the bevelled "VW".  The Mk5 handle from 2007?? onwards will accept the mk6 bevelled "VW"
