Spark plug going black?
« on: June 30, 2018, 06:18:18 pm »
A week or two ago driving around and all of a sudden car is running rough and misfiring. Turned out cylinder 3 has a misfire and it was the spark plug, gone all black. So replaced them all with NGK BKR7EIX and a week or so later same thing has happened in cylinder 3.

Now before me my cousin owned the car and said the same thing happened and it turned out to be the injectors so he got them cleaned and rebuild and the car ran fine for a couple years. Would I be ok just changing the one injector? Or is the problem deeper than that?

Ive got a used injector sitting in some thinners and its cleaning up nicely also got the rebuild kit from tps. Engine is an AXX with almost 160k and rtech stage 1. Was running perfectly fine before this.

Maybe try some BG44K and see if this clears the problem. I just tried some and it cured a 'lazy' injector giving me a smoother running and more responsive car.
