Hi guys and gals new here
I took my mk5 GTI to the garage the other day and the car doesn't like going into reverse I have to pump the clutch 1-2 times, 8/10 times to get it to go in. The garage said that there is a bit of play in the gear linkage and needs replacing... now I've been shopping around on eBay and such and can pick up a (used/working) part for between £25-£50 which I'm assuming is going to be a lot less than the garage cost (which I still have yet to get) trouble is I'm literally going on a description of (VW Golf GTI 2008 gear linkage) I don't know the part number and was wondering if any one would know the part number on a BWA engine or if any one else has had a reverse issue and resolution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
