My Edition 30
« on: December 31, 2008, 11:10:05 am »
Well hears my GTI Edition 30 - stage 2 bluefin with milltek tbe resonated, dbilas intake, bilstein pss10 coils, WALK kit and full set of VF engine mounts.

Dynoed last week at 324bhp & 353lbft

Few pics I took while bored at work today sorry for poor quality taken on iphone ...

Shows ride height with new bilstein coils fitted and a pic under the bonnet with new dbilas and engine cover (not impressed with engine cover cost £70  looks OK)

yeah i prefer oem engine cover but wont fit with intake unless you cut it up and I plan to put back on when I sell in the future so can't do.

think it still looks better than the engine on display...

thanks for kind words, definitely changed since that cold saturday in october on the rr day, pleased with the extra 50 ponies though and handles and feels alot better too.

as for anything else, well if i find a spare 3.5k in my back pocket i would love to have the vwr quaife and break upgrade but pipe dreams as for power im quite content for the mo especially with these icy conditions   :driver:

I don't think the engine cover is too bad really.

I think if you could get a sticker/badge of some sort made up to put on it, it would finish it off.

Don't ask me what the sticker/badge should say lol!

But I can just envisage something on it, which would top it off!

Hope that makes some form of sense haha!

yeah got the dbilas heat shield, the engine cover is by evoms though just so people know not to go for that one  :signIWS: never mind its not like i drive with the bonnet up.

pleased with dbilas though nice and quiet when cruising but as soon you boot it, produces a nice note with the exhaust.

vf engine mounts and coilovers seem to have settled in now done about 400 mile on them,  the vibrations seemed to have calmed down even when sat in traffic in D mode they are hardly noticeable, or i have got used to them..

all together feels very solid and roll feel when taking corners aggressively is pretty much non existent just gripped really well  :driver:

Sorry if i have missed it somewhere James are you saying that there is not much of a difference with the VF mounts compared to standard, i mean in the cabin with vibrations.

first couple of hundred miles after having them installed the difference between stock and mounts was night and day, was vibrations while idling and in low gears going along, the break pedal also vibrated a bit too and cabin noise was quite alot more noticeable. i was a little concerned...

have given it a good long drive today and pushed it pretty hard  overall done around 400 miles on them

got home and took my g/f to supermarket and she commented that the noise and vibrations were not as bad as before, which confirmed what i felt on the drive back as i got in to the congestion in London, but still more noticeable than pre mounts.

they seemed to have settled in, though still very much noticeable in terms of feel of the car, gear changes, breaking and cornering all feels sturdier.
