Will changing timing belt reset my remap
« on: August 16, 2018, 05:59:18 pm »
My edition 30 has a stage 1 remap on it and my timing belt/water pumps is due replacement soon. I’ve read that the battery needs disconnected to change the belt so could this reset the ecu?

Thanks

No, should be fine.

You could do the belts without disconnecting the battery. Just be really careful not to accidentally try and start it! Its good practice to disconnect it.

It's only the Revo map that defaults to a reduced performance mode if the battery is pulled.  You need an SPS switch to re-enable the Stage 1 map, or a trip to a Revo dealer.

If you don't have a Revo map, pulling the battery won't affect anything.

As above, the battery doesn't need disconnecting to change the belt, but a lot of garages do it regardless as a precautionary measure.
