Taking the Golf home

As a big fan of cars and travel I try and combine the two whenever I can. So I'm thinking of taking my "new" Golf home to where it was made. I did this with my other car last Christmas and it was great fun.

So stupid question time - was the Mk5 GTI made in Wolfsburg? If so has anyone done the factory tour / museum? If so any recommendations?
